Cabot’s Candygram: OMG here come the FALL FLAVORS!

Cabot’s Candygram: OMG here come the FALL FLAVORS!

Here in New England the leaves are changing and there is the slightest hint of a chill in the air. Three of the things that I look forward to most about fall are:

1) the change in temperature (can anyone say HOT SUMMER 🥵🥵🥵)!

2) the beautiful red and gold leaves, and of course...

3) FALL FLAVORS!

Who isn’t excited when they start seeing pumpkin spice popping up on every menu and in every form: lattes, doughnuts, candles, iced coffees, cookies, cakes, saltwater taffy ;)))? Where were you this year when you smelled a warm apple crisp? There is a reason we all collectively turn our noses in the direction of fall flavors and aromas - they bring us back to the places we call home!

After adventuring all summer; visiting the beach, hiking the trails, camping, visiting far flung friends and family it is so nice to return to the warmth and comfort that home brings. As the season changes and we tuck ourselves in for the approaching long and dark wintertime; autumn eases us into the cold months ahead, wrapping us up in blankets and toasty socks, enveloping us in the sweet smell of mulled apple cider and salted caramel

In Provincetown at Cabot’s Candy Factory we also set our sights on the flavors of fall. We temporarily retire some of our more summery flavors and the taffy pulling machines and fudge tins are given over producing our seasonal flavors like: maple, honey, ginger, sea salt caramel, rum butter, and cranberry.

Our peanut brittle production also steps into high gear with flavor varieties like Beer Brittle (made with REAL beer from our friends at the Samuel Adams Brewery), Coconut Rum Brittle, and of course the crowd pleasing Original Peanut Brittle.

One of the coolest things about making our own fudge and salt water taffy is that both treats are well suited to take on the flavor that you introduce to it. Add a dash of this and a twist of that and you have maple pecan, back up a step or two and you have dark chocolate sea salt caramel.

The wonderful hints of fall waft up to our storefront at 276 Commercial Street Provincetown, Massachusetts from the taffy cooking in large copper vats down below. It adds a delectable sense of warmth and coziness to the chilly breezes gaining strength over the emptying beaches and the outside restaurant patios closing up their umbrellas for fall.

If you visit Provincetown town in the off season please stop by our retail location and say hello, and as always we are here to provide you with a great experience any time of year via our website: www.cabotscandy.com. Do you have any delicious and interesting fall flavors you think we should try?
