Although the last few years have brought Cabot’s Candy a sizable online following both through social media platforms (Facebook link, Instagram Link) and via our website (www.cabotscandy.com), our brick and mortar store is where it all began! Sitting on the corner of Commercial and Ryder streets on the tip of Cape Cod - Provincetown, MA the building looks out to the MacMillan Pier, Provincetown Harbor Jetties, and Cape Cod Bay beyond. 

The windows are hand letter-painted in fonts of bright red and orange that evoke an earlier era of penny-candy stores and ice cream “shoppes”. 

The company was founded in 1927 hand pulling taffy at small local fairs. Over the past 95 years it has been run by a few hard-working families and to this day we are happy to say that it is still family owned and operated! It is lovely to be able to share our love of this special treat with others that visit the shore in the summertime or purchase their favorites online. 

We have many special people in our “extended Cabot’s family” , but one of our most talented and dedicated team members who has been with the company the longest at over 20 years is: Scott! 

Scott is our amazing head of production and wearer of many hats. He started initially fixing our computers and making shipping labels, then moved on to admin work, bills, etc. He’s implemented countless organizational strategies in every area of the business and has gotten down and dirty repairing antique taffy wrapping and pulling machines. He eventually was encouraged to try out the retail floor, which he says, at the time “I was kind of terrified of but I made it fun and became really good at [it].”  He says after he dabbled at this and that he just slowly learned everything and would keep things going until he became the go to guy himself! We know that he always tries to do things 110% and makes it fun, because after all, it is a candy store/factory and it “should be!” 

To the rest of us there is nothing he doesn't know how to cook, solve or fix. Scott truly makes each day in the factory a good one. He and his dedicated team handmake every batch of taffy, fudge and brittle you see in our store. If you visit us this year you will most likely see Scott on the sales floor, wrapping taffy, or flying around keeping all the balls in the air. Stop in and say hello to our MVP - Scott!
