About Us

Cabot's Candy got its start in 1927, hand-pulling saltwater taffy in small, local fairs. The popularity of this delectable seashore treat led to the opening of a beautiful little store and factory, where we still operate today in Provincetown, MA. Our product lines have grown to include award winning fudge, shockingly good peanut brittle, specialty flavored popcorn, baked goods and so many delicious surprises yet to come. We're proud of our long history of making some of the best salt water taffy around, and of sharing this heritage with generations of folks who come back year after year to share with their own children and grandchildren. As a family operated business, we can't think of anything more satisfying than being a sweet tradition for families and dear friends.

In addition to the confections we make, we carry an exciting selection of delicious candy in our store: bin after bin of weigh your own gummies and chocolate covered treats, nostalgic penny candy, fine truffles and chocolate bars, regionally made maple candy and caramels, and so much more. We love finding new things for you to try as well stocking old favorites, because we know that sometimes only a Mary Jane will do. Who makes the candy?

Scott is our amazing head of production and wearer of many hats. There's nothing he doesn't know how to cook, solve or fix. Scott truly makes each day in the factory a good one. He and his dedicated team handmake every batch of taffy, fudge and brittle you see in our store.

Notes on Candy

Salt Water Taffy: This is a pretty resilient candy best enjoyed at a warmer room temperature. Store in a sealed plastic bag at room temperature for the longest shelf life, which can be up to 5 months before the consistency begins to change. Some like to freeze their taffy to preserve its peak flavor for longer, though don't forget to let it thaw completely at room temperature before trying to take a bite!

Fudge: This confection can last for many days if properly stored. Try wrapping with plastic wrap or foil, and storing in an airtight container at room temperature for the best taste. Refrigerated fudge may last longer, but will dry out and begin to lose its great flavor, and therefore isn't recommended. Fudge can also be frozen for up to 3 or 4 months. Seal with plastic wrap inside an airtight container in your freezer, and simply let it thaw and come to room temperature when you're ready to eat it.

Allergens: We make our own taffy, fudge and brittle candies. These products are manufactured in a facility that also processes tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, wheat and soy. Though we don't use any ingredients with gluten in our taffy, please note we are not a gluten free facility and there is a possibility for cross contamination for all candies.
